Our Story
Serving Biryani, Maqluba, and Mandy since 2020
Fizi Specialities began in 2020 as a humble home-based venture. What started as family cooking during festive occasions like Hari Raya soon turned into something bigger, when friends and relatives encouraged us to share our food with the public. Every time we opened for orders, they sold out quickly, giving us the confidence to take this passion more seriously.
On 7 October 2023, we took a bold step and opened our first stall at Joo Chiat Complex Coffee Shop. Today, we continue our journey at Changi Road, right across Geylang Serai Market, serving our signature dishes with the same love and passion that began at home.
Our Heritage
Behind Fizi Specialities is Muhammad Ashik, who spent over 30 years in interior design, construction, and property development before finding true passion in food. Though not trained in F&B, he carries a deep-rooted family tradition. His grandfather and uncles were cooks for weddings and large gatherings, making this not just a business, but a continuation of a legacy.
The name “Fizi” itself comes from Ashik’s wife, Faiza, affectionately called “Fizi” by her family. In many ways, she is the soul and inspiration behind the brand.
What Makes Us Special
Our menu reflects our heritage, a blend of Indian Muslim and Arabic roots. From the rich flavors of South Indian biryani to the Middle Eastern Maqluba and Mandy, we bring together two culinary worlds in one kitchen. Every dish is carefully prepared with authentic spices, generous portions, and your choice of chicken, mutton, or lamb shank.
